Crimp-free Solar Connectors: Making Photovoltaic Connections More Convenient
Crimp-free solar connectors are a new type of connection component for photovoltaic systems. They eliminate the need for specialized crimping tools, utilizing their own structure to achieve a tight connection between the cable and the terminal. They are widely used in rooftop photovoltaic systems, outdoor power stations, and emergency repairs. They are particularly suitable for outdoor environments where specialized tools are lacking, significantly reducing labor costs.
Slocable possesses core technology and has independently developed internal terminals to launch the tool-free MC4 Connector. Like the Staubli model, this connector is compatible with both 4mm² and 6mm² solar cables. It is easy to operate, using a snap-fit or spiral design to automatically grip the cable with a built-in toothed clamping plate. This avoids the drawbacks of traditional crimping connectors that require specialized tools and skilled operation, reducing the risk of poor contact, overheating, or even fires caused by improper crimping during on-site installation. Certified by TUV, it offers superior reliability.
Key Features & Benefits
① 3-second install. One-step secure.
② No crimping. No hassle.
③ Double your on-site efficiency.
How should we operate correctly?
①Strip the cable
Strip the outer jacket and expose ~15 mm of conductor.
②Straighten the strands
Gently straighten and bundle the copper strands to avoid splaying.
③Insert the conductor
Push the conductor firmly into the MC4 contact until it fully bottoms out. Then do a pull test to confirm it cannot be pulled out.
④Tighten the cap
Tighten the cap clockwise until locked.
⑤Final inspection
• Pull test:Gently pull the cable to confirm no looseness or slippage.
• Visual check:Cap fully seated; seal ring not exposed.

Compared to traditional solar connectors, the crimp-free model eliminates the hassle of carrying tools and avoids the risk of uneven crimping depth, making photovoltaic installation more efficient and safer.
